Franziska Bax is a student in the Masters of Arts in Environment & Society at the Rachel Carson Center. She joined the program to gain a deeper understanding of the role that (cultural) narratives play in the processes of creating, justifying and fixating 'othering' hierarchies, especially at the intersection of human-nature relations and coloniality.
Being previously trained as an artistic researcher (MA from the Design Academy Eindhoven, BA at KISD Köln, ENSCI Les Ateliers Paris and Konstfack Stockholm), she is particularly interested in the potential of artistic methods for academic research.
