Vandana Rani is pursuing her PhD at the University of Freiburg in ecocritical children’s and youth literature. In 2024, she was awarded the Prize for Outstanding Innovators for her exceptional research contributions. She completed her MPhil in German literature at Jawaharlal Nehru University in India. Her research interests include contemporary youth literature in German- and Hindi-speaking regions, Romantic literature, ecocriticism, the Anthropocene, and translation studies. She also translates German children’s and youth literature into Hindi.
