Cristian Moyano-Fernández currently holds a Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute of Philosophy at the Spanish National Research Council where he explores the human and wildlife relationship in ecological crisis scenarios. He obtained a BA and MA degree in philosophy, and a PhD in environmental science and technology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. In the last years, he has become the most recognized voice in Spain on the philosophy of rewilding. He is the author of 5 books, 15 research papers published in indexed journals, and 10 book chapters. He has participated in numerous international conferences and coordinated the interdisciplinary research project “ERA-CERES” as principal investigator, in collaboration with the BBVA Foundation and Rewilding Europe, awarded with 30,000€. He has also been invited to speak about the philosophy of rewilding, bioethics, and environmental politics at multiple academic, institutional, and cultural events.
