Pauline holds an MA in English studies from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich (LMU); her thesis is titled “Poverty, Madness, and the Nonhuman: Contemporary Literary Imaginaries of Precarity.” She obtained her BA in English studies and cultural studies from LMU and the University of Birmingham, UK. In 2023, she completed the Environmental Studies Certificate Program at the RCC.

Pauline’s research has focused on human–nonhuman relationships, political economy, literature as propaganda, and precarity in twentieth- and twenty-first-century fiction. When she is not editing texts for Springs: The Rachel Carson Center Review or Arcadia: Explorations in Environmental History, she concentrates her efforts on writing fiction.

Pauline joined the RCC in May 2021.
