Christopher Steil obtained a BA in North American studies from LMU in 2023 with a minor in theater studies and a master’s degree in American history, culture, and society in 2026. His research interests include film and literary studies and queer history. He wrote his BA thesis on the censorship of homosexuality in 1950s film adaptations of literary works by Patricia Highsmith and Tennessee Williams. His MA thesis dealt with the interrelationship between 1980s American politics and AIDS activism. He is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in film and media studies at LMU Munich.
Christopher joined the Editorial and Communications team at the Rachel Carson Center in April 2023.
