Annika Stanitzok completed her BA in English studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU) with a minor in music, art, and theater. During her year abroad, she studied English linguistics and literature as well as creative writing at the University of Salford, Manchester, and did an internship at the International Office of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna, Austria. Since October 2021, she has been enrolled in the English studies master’s program at LMU with a research interest in gender studies, cultural studies, and ecocriticism in contemporary fiction, especially at the intersection between linguistics and literature.

She is currently writing her master's thesis with Prof. Dr. Enno Ruge about how language shapes fictional worlds.

Annika joined the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society in July 2022 as an editor.
