Regina Bichler, MS

Doctoral candidate

Regina Bichler studied Chemistry, Biochemistry and Japanese studies in Munich, Pavia and Osaka. While her M. Sc. thesis dealt with the analysis of a bacterial enzyme with the potential of producing carbohydrates for celiac disease patients, her B. A. thesis focused on the role of the “Open Air Museum of old Japanese farmhouses” in Toyonaka, Japan, in local and national identity construction. After her graduation in 2018, she worked in a Japanese chemical company in translation and intercultural communication. She will join the DFG Emmy-Noether Research Group “Hazardous Travels. Ghost Acres and the Global Waste Economy” under Dr. Simone M. Müller in April 2021.
