Carmel Finley is a historian of science, with an interest in the construction of fisheries science in the Pacific Ocean. A former newspaper reporter, she lives in Corvallis, Or, with her husband and cat and teaches at Oregon State University. Finley completed her PhD in the history of science at the University of California, San Diego. Carmel's research is focused on the Pacific Ocean and deals with the co-construction of fisheries science, especially between Japan and the US.
