Carson Fellow

Seth Peabody is a visiting assistant professor of German at St. Olaf College, where he teaches on German language, literature, film, and contemporary culture, as well as on environmental culture in the United States and Germany. His research focuses on the interplay between environmental history and German film, the writings of Goethe in the context of landscape change around 1800, and hybrid environments and identities in recent German film and literature. While at the Carson Center, he worked toward the completion of his monograph Environmental Fantasies: German Film History for the Anthropocene.
