Salma Monani is an associate professor of environmental studies at Gettysburg College, Pennsylvania. She is an active researcher in the growing field of ecomedia studies. Her specific research interests in ecomedia studies engage the voices and visions of traditionally marginalized groups and highlight concerns of environmental justice. With Stephen Rust and Sean Cubitt, she co-edited Ecocinema Theory and Practice and Ecomedia: Key Concepts, and is currently lead editor (with Joni Adamson) of Ecocriticism and Indigenous Studies: Conversations from Earth to Cosmos. She has also published her research in journals such as ISLE, The Journal of Nature and Culture, and Local Environment, and in various anthologies.
