Dr. Khaled Misbahuzzaman is a professor at the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, Chittagong University, Bangladesh. He received his BSc (Hons.) degree in forestry from the same institute and later pursued postgraduate studies in natural resource planning and management from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand. He earned his PhD in forest restoration ecology from Edinburgh University, United Kingdom, and carried out postdoctoral research in forest-based livelihood analysis at Copenhagen University, Denmark, and in ethnoecology and ethnoforestry at Pennsylvania State University, United States. As a fellow at the RCC in 2014, he conducted research on sustainable forest landscape and community livelihood development in the degraded landscapes of the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. Currently, as an RCC Alumni Fellow, he is conducting research on the impact of industrialization on the coastal ecosystems of Bangladesh. Dr. Misbahuzzaman has conducted extensive research on the coastal and hill forest ecosystems of Bangladesh. Additionally, he has provided consultancy services to various organizations, including UNDP, FAO, WB, GIZ, and ICIMOD. He has published over 55 research papers.
