Julian Neef is a third-year PhD researcher at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) in Brighton, UK. His doctoral research project, “Shaping Relationships with Nature: Local Resource Nexuses in the Context of Development Corridors in Virunga National Park,” focuses on infrastructure development and its impact on local resource nexuses in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Julian also worked as a research assistant for several projects at IDS. He holds an MSc in agricultural sciences in the tropics and subtropics from the University of Hohenheim.
