Prof. Dr. Frank Zelko

Alumni Carson Fellow

Frank Zelko’s research focuses on the history of environmentalism, and he is the author of a book on the history of Greenpeace (Oxford University Press, 2013). His current project examines the role that holistic ecological thought has played in mitigating the disenchantment of modernity. He has received research funding from Fulbright, the Aspen Institute, DAAD, and the Henkel Stiftung. Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Zelko teaches history and environmental studies at the University of Vermont. He received his PhD from the University of Kansas in 2003 and spent a year as a postdoctoral fellow at the German Historical Institute in Washington, DC and three years as an assistant professor at the University of Queensland. He enjoys Kaffee und Kuchen at around 4:00PM.
