Elizabeth B. Jones is an associate professor of history at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA, where she teaches courses in modern German history, European economic and social history, and world history. She earned a Master’s Degree in German Language and Literature from the University of Wisconsin and a doctorate in modern German history from the University of Minnesota. Her first book, Gender and Rural Modernity: Farm Women and the Politics of Labor in Germany, 1871-1933, appeared in 2009 in Ashgate’s Studies in Labour History series.
While at the Center, Jones was working on a book called The Settlement Imagination: German Internal Colonization and Empire, 1850-1933, which traces varied internal colonization experiments with an emphasis on their social, regional and environmental dimensions.
