Diana Mincyte was a Carson Fellow from November 2009 to July 2010 and from May 2011 to July 2011.
Before coming to RCC, Diana Mincyte was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a fellow in the Program in Agrarian Studies at Yale University. As an environmental sociologist, Mincyte explores topics on the interface of poverty, consumption, agro-food systems, and biopolitics, particularly in the contexts of post-socialist East Europe. Mincyte's book project focuses on raw milk politics in the new European Union member states to consider connections between subsistence practices and European sustainability discourses. Mincyte's research is published in Sociologia Ruralis, Agriculture and Human Values, Slavic Review, Cultural Studies-Critical Methodologies, among others, and several edited volumes.
