Prof. Dr. Cecilia Åsberg

Prof. Dr. Cecilia Åsberg is guest professor of STS, Gender and Environment at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (Division of History of Science, Technology and Environment), and full professor of Gender, Nature, Culture at Linköping University. She is the founding director of the Posthumanities Hub (2008–), and the Seed Box: An Environmental Humanities Collaboratory (2013–2017), a Swedish-international research program in environmental humanities at Linköping University. She is passionate about bringing science and art to the humanities, and transformative more-than-human humanities to the people. Her group, the Posthumanities Hub, hosts networks like Posthumanities International Network (PIN), Posthumanities: Next Genderation, Eco-Deco, Queer Death Studies, Eco- and Bio Art Research, and is part of Posthumanists Research Institute (Brock University, CA), and its international network. Åsberg has attracted more than €6 million in grants for her team; supervised 14 PhD students; published extensively (in Swedish, Dutch, English); and taught gender studies, environmental humanities, STS, feminist theory, media- and cultural studies, and posthumanities to BA and MA students in various research, managing and teaching positions at KTH, LiU and Utrecht University. Eager to learn from others, she has been a visiting scholar with Lancaster University, University of Vienna, University of Stavanger, University of Sydney, Technische Universität Berlin, Universität Würzburg, Gothenburg University, Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität Munich, Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, Cardiff University, Glasgow University, Gothenburg International Science Festival, and Lofoten International Arts Festival.
