Akinpelu Ayokunnu Oyekunle is a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology, University of South Africa, and a lecturer at Adekunle Ajasin University, Nigeria. His research recognizes the interrelatedness of issues with the nonlinearity of conceptual thought. Akinpelu thus focuses on advancing the Indigenous knowledge systems of the Global South, and of the African continent in particular, as a theoretical and pragmatic framework for addressing today's environmental challenges. His area of research includes African environmental philosophy, decoloniality and development studies, and applied epistemology. Outside philosophical engagements, Akinpelu enjoys playing the piano.
