Tuesday Discussion with Ute Kledt (annaloog) and Iryna Vorona (Ukraine War Art Collection)

16.01.2024 16:30  – 17:45

Location: Rachel Carson Center, fourth floor, Conference Room, Leopoldstr. 11a, 80802 Munich, Germany

The two artists Iryna Vorona and Ute Kledt met in 2022 at an online network conference organized by the Goethe Institute. At the conference, Iryna presented “Portrait Archive: War Diary” featuring charcoal drawings of people from Ukraine and Ute a diary with the title “Offenland—Recordings of an Early Spring” about the spring following two winters 2020–22. These fragments convey respect for nature, for life, and provide inspiration for and confidence in a post-war period, explains Iryna. Since the conference, the two artists have exchanged their perspectives and stages of transformation, stating: “Everyone has their own story and their own unique path. By combining our experiences, we are able to see Ukraine from different points of view, but to feel with one heart.”

The Tuesday Discussions are free and open to the public.
