39th International Documentary Film Festival Munich

1–12 May in cinemas
6–20 May at home

DOK.fest München gives insights into the world we live in: with 109 films from 51 different countries. This year, the festival opens with Watching You: Die Welt von Palantir und Alex Karp [Watching You: The World of Palantir and Alex Karp]. The DOK.focus series Democrazy then focuses on the current state of democracies in Europe. And the series Filmmaking in Exile presents filmmakers who had to leave their homeland for political reasons. The homage is dedicated to the Dutch directing duo Petra Lataster-Czisch and Peter Lataster.

From the big film premiere to the international discovery, the program brings together the highlights of current documentary filmmaking, accompanied by film talks and thematic specials. At DOK.forum, the industry meets to discuss the perspective of documentary storytelling. For children, young people and schools, DOK.education offers its own films with media education workshops.
