Ecopolis Exhibition

An exhibition on Munich's environmental histories

17.10.2022 at 17:30  – 30.11.2022 at 23:59

Ecopolis showcases the work of students of the RCC's interdisciplinary Environmental Studies Certificate Program.

The exhibition outlines the connections between people and Munich's environment in the past, present, and future. Did you know that people used to grow potatoes in the English Garden or that mushrooms thrive in the urban underground? How wild is Munich's "wild west"? Where does the name "Berg am Laim" come from? How is the Schlachthof area connected to cholera?

The exhibition addresses these and many more questions. Anyone who is interested in the environment, history, or both is very welcome at Ecopolis. The exhibition covers twelve different topics, has its own children's station, and is accessible barrier-free.

The exhibition runs from 17 October until 30 November 2022 in the community kitchen at shaere Neuperlach (Fritz-Schäffer-Straße 9, 81737 Munich). It can be visited during the opening times of the kitchen, which are as follows:

  • Monday–Friday: 08.30–16:00
  • Sunday: 10:00–16:00

The exhibition also has four guided tours:

  • 27 October, 16:00
  • 2 November, 15:00
  • 14 November, 16:00
  • 24 November 16:00
