To Talk about Lobsters Is to Talk About People: Rocky Politics and Climate Challenges for Coastal Maine's Future

This week's Tuesday Discussion will be with RCC visiting scholar Rebecca Jordan who is advocating for the Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries on the island of Stonington, ME. The Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries have been working towards bridging local knowledge with visitor interest in coastal ecology. The center also fundraises for ecological education expansion for the community and support of the local fishermen.

In her talk, Rebecca Jordan will primarily explore the entanglements of diverging political positions in coastal Maine communities and how these positions impact challenges and changes to the lobster industry and Maine coast. She will also be referring to current lobster ecology and look at the expectations scientists have for Maine's lobster fishing industry.

The Tuesday Discussions are free and open to the public. Please note that the Tuesday Discussions are subject to the ''2G'' rules in Bavaria. Anyone who attends will need show one of the following:
a.) a vaccine ID indicating status as fully vaccinated
b.) a positive PCR test no older than 6 months
