“Was it worth it, considering that two of our people now go to prison?,” asks an activist in Lützerath after a nighttime altercation with the police. Prison sentences against activists are getting stricter and longer, and the question arises as to whether the commitment is worth the individual repercussions. There is talk of “cost-benefit.” With great empathy and gripping camerawork, the film tells of the struggle for the “right” path and of solidarity with what is probably the largest social and political movement in the Western world. The film clearly positions itself on the side of the climate movement, yet leaves room for ambivalence.
A discussion with Felix Maria Bühler (Director) (tbc) will follow the screening.
The original version of the film will be shown with English subtitles. The discussion will be held in German.
