This Tuesday, Yola Krämer and Bastian Lösch of LMU's Umweltreferat [environmental office], will join us for the Tuesday Discussion to present their projects, ideas, and contributions to a more sustainable university. The department in involved in university-wide sustainability projects and projects that include other universities in Munich, particularly TUM and HM. For example, in collaboration with the Munich Student Union [Studierendenwerk], efforts are underway to promote more environmentally friendly food in the cafeterias. They also organize bicycle repair workshops in cooperation with ReparadTUM from TUM, a zero-waste workshop with the Student Union, waste collection campaigns in collaboration with Erasmus+, and clothing swap parties with the Green Office Martinsried.
Among their most important own projects is the podcast "Der Grüne Hörsaal," which provides information on sustainability and highlights initiatives from Munich and LMU aimed at students. They also advocate for greater environmental awareness in the university’s operations and teaching, conduct public relations work, and come up with new creative formats to continuously draw attention to the topic of sustainability at LMU.
The Tuesday Discussions are free and open to the public.
