This week, Monika Egerer, professor of urban productive ecosystems at the Technical University of Munich and initiator of the project “Stadtoasen,” gives insights into the ecology and management of production-oriented ecosystems in and around cities. She pursues an interdisciplinary research approach that analyzes connections between biodiversity, ecosystem services, and social-ecological issues in urban agricultural systems. We will discuss necessary areas of improvement so that Munich can move from “grey” to “green.”
