Tuesday Discussion with Lena Köhn (SPEAK4Nature)

12.12.2023 16:30  – 17:45

Location: Rachel Carson Center, fourth floor, Conference Room, Leopoldstr. 11a, 80802 Munich, Germany

This Tuesday, Lena Köhn, research fellow at the chair of public law at LMU, will introduce her work on rights of nature in the Ecuadorian constitution. Lena examines the transferability of the concept of rights of nature to German constitutional law. During her PhD, Lena did research at Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar in Quito, Ecuador. Previously, she studied law and completed a foreign law and language program in Spanish law at the University of Münster. She has worked at the Ombudsman Office in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a law firm for environmental law in Munich.

The Tuesday Discussion will also provide an opportunity for the audience to learn about the EU-funded research project SPEAK4Nature (2023–2027)—with LMU and the RCC as partner institutions—that focuses on the study, exchange, and knowledge transfer about ecological justice standards and policies. Several members of the RCC are involved in the project and will be present.

Tea and cake will be served at this event.

The Tuesday Discussions are free and open to the public.
