Lunchtime Colloquium

Location: Katholische Hochschulgemeinde, Leopoldstr. 11, 1. OG Saal
Giuliano Garavini (Università Roma Tre) will present on “The 1973 Oil Shock: A Missed Opportunity to Tackle the Environmental Crisis?”
The current debate on “decarbonization” positions the key actors of the oil industry, from international oil companies, to carbon finance, to petrostates as obstacles in the struggle to fight climate change. The history of the 1973 “oil shock” fifty years ago reveals a more complex scenario, one that could also teach us a lesson for the present.
The Lunchtime Colloquium is free and open to the public. The talk starts at 12:30, but feel free to come at 12, bring a lunch, and socialize.
