Tuesday Discussion with Maya Ahnen and Daniel Tapia Montejo (G7 Karawane)

This week’s Tuesday Discussion is with Maya Ahnen, an environmental activist based in Munich, and Daniel Tapia Montejo, a human rights activist. They will introduce us to the campaign “For Life ... Instead of G7.” This campaign was a three-week tour across Germany in June 2022 that was aiming to discuss G7 politics and to give a platform to the voices that are excluded from the G7 alliance. These are the voices of people fighting for the territorial integrity of Indigenous peoples and climate justice, particularly in the Global South. Maya and Daniel will share lessons learned from the campaign and from working with non-parliamentary and grassroots organizations from across the planet, and they will explain how mainstream politics responded to this campaign.
