21.06.2022 16:15  – 17:15

Location: Rachel Carson Center, Conference Room (4th floor), Leopoldstr. 11a, 80802 Munich, Germany

This week’s Tuesday Discussion will be with Prof. Dr. Miranda Schreurs, who holds the Chair of Environment and Climate Policy at TU Munich. The focus of Miranda Schreurs' talk will be on turning energy and climate crises into moments of change. Professor Schreurs is involved in projects examining the energy transitions in Germany and Japan; climate policies of Europe, the United States, and China; and the politics of high-level radioactive waste disposal. In 2011, Chancellor Angela Merkel appointed Schreurs a member of the German Ethics Commission for a Safe Energy Supply. From 2008 until 2016, she served as member of the German Advisory Council on the Environment. Miranda Schreurs will also discuss the work of the European Environment and Sustainable Development Advisory Councils, which she has been leading for about a decade.

The Tuesday Discussions are free and open to the public.
