Tuesday Discussion with Kathrin Succow (Michael Succow Foundation)

This week Kathrin Succow, the honorary head of the Michael Succow Foundation will introduce the foundation which was named after her father, Alternative Nobel Laureate and former Deputy Minister for Nature Conservation of the GDR, Michael Succow. Kathrin Succow who received her gardening diploma from Humboldt University Berlin initiated the establishment of the foundation in 1999. The starting grant came from Michael Succow's Alternative Nobel Laureate money. The foundation was one of the first non-profit nature conservation foundations in the new German states. It is today involved in the development and protection of national parks and biosphere reserves, in land use and climate protection initiatives and in the support of young scholars.
