Tuesday Discussion with David Finnigan (Writer/Theatre-Maker/Game Developer)

27.11.2018 16:15  – 17:15

Location: Rachel Carson Center, Leopoldstr. 11a, 4th Floor, Room 415 (conference room)

From Australia, David Finnigan works at the intersection of science and art and has developed games with research institutions including University College London, the Stockholm Resilience Centre, Earth Observatory Singapore and CSIRO in Australia. In addition, with the science-theatre ensemble Boho, Finnigan produces participatory works that explore concepts from climate and systems science. Finnigan's games put audiences in charge of social-ecological systems such as forests, nature reserves, cities or music festivals. Through their choices and decisions, players experience the complex systems dynamics at play within these systems. Most recently, David created ''95 Years or Less,'' a game about the Harapan rainforest in Indonesia, commissioned by UK NGO Forum for the Future.

Refreshments and cake will be served.
