As part of a seminar on national parks in Bavaria, Christof Mauch will lead an excursion to the Bayerischer Wald national park. The park is known for its large expanses of quintessential European forest, and a picturesque low mountain landscape. The park administration has a philosophy of "let nature be nature" and hence allows the ecosystems to develop without interference.
Participants will spend the weekend taking tours through the forest and engaging in discussions at the Waldgeschichtliches Museum (Museum of Forest History).
