This week, renowned environmental historian Jane Carruthers from the University of South Africa will discuss her new book on national parks with Libby Robin (Australia) and Bernhard Gißibl (Germany). Carruthers was the first President of the International Consortium of Environmental History Organizations (ICEHO) and a President of the South African Historical Association. Her expertise is in natural resource management, horticulture, forestry, ecology, and conservation; her reports have raised awareness about the displacement of locals from national parks and other protected areas. Tea and cake will be served.
