Angelika Krebs on "'And What was there Accepted Us': Landscape, Stimmung, and Heimat"

Lunchtime Colloquium

17.04.2014

Location: Katholische Hochschulgemeinde (KHG), Leopoldstr. 11

Angelika Krebs (University of Basel, Switzerland) will present on landscape, Stimmung, and Heimat. Her talk will explore the idea that the aesthetic experience of beautiful landscapes makes us feel at home in the world, safe and accepted. To establish this idea, Krebs will first clarify the concepts of landscape and of Stimmung (or atmosphere) and then will show how Stimmung is infused into landscape and how we respond to it aesthetically.

The Lunchtime Colloquium is free and open to the public.

Snacks are served at 12:00; the lecture starts at 12:30.
