Climate Refugees

Film Screening

05.05.2011 20:00  – 23:00

Location: Gasteig, Rosenheimer Straße 5, Munich

Admission: 3 Euros

Rising sea levels, devastating floods, and prolonged droughts are already forcing millions of people in the world to leave their homelands and to look beyond national borders for a new home. In the next decades, the number of climate refugees will dramatically rise. Who will take them in? What fate will they suffer?

The American film director Michael Nash traveled the world for two years to pursue these questions. His award-winning documentary, "Climate Refugees," impressively displays the human side of climate change, and brings to light the large challenges that climate refugees will pose also for host countries.

Director Michael Nash will be personally present at the film's presentation, and will answer questions on the film after the screening.

This event is organized by the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society, in cooperation with Münchner Volkshochschule, Ökologisches Bildungszentrum München, and Amerika Haus Munich, and the US Consulate General Munich.

In the afternoon prior to the screening, we will be hosting Michael Nash in a discussion forum. View information for this event.
