Tuesday Discussion with Katharina Habersbrunner (BENG: Citizen Energy Cooperative)

11.11.2025 16:30  – 17:45

Location: Rachel Carson Center, fourth floor, Conference Room, Leopoldstr. 11a, 80802 Munich, Germany

This Tuesday, Katharina Habersbrunner, chair of Bürgerenergiegenossenschaft BENG eG [citizen energy cooperative], will join us for the Tuesday Discussion and introduce her initiative and their work around the energy transition.

Energy communities are key drivers of a decentralized, citizen-led energy future. They generate renewable power from solar and wind, manage storage, and enable prosumers to use the energy they collectively produce. This model strengthens local value chains, fosters social acceptance, and keeps economic benefits within the region—offering social, economic, and ecological advantages alike. BENG eG will be presented as an example for good practice, showing how citizen participation can successfully power the energy transition.

The Tuesday Discussions are free and open to the public.
