This Tuesday, Anna Abelmann-Brockmann, senior scientific officer at the Scientific cooperation Bavaria-Israel at the Bavarian Research Alliance, will join us for the Tuesday Discussion with a talk on “Environmental Research as a Tool for Science Diplomacy in the Middle East.” Climate change is a major challenge for the different players in the Middle East region, which can be a unifying element despite numerous political and military conflicts. Water scarcity, energy security, and soil health, as well as agriculture, are just a few of these challenges. This talk will present various local and EU initiatives that are conducting cross-border research on these very issues in the Middle East region, thus attempting to maintain a political dialogue, in addition to the scientific component.

The Tuesday Discussions are free and open to the public.
