Growth Media: Articulating Agroecological Learning Assemblages in Thailand

Doctoral Defense

23.07.2025 at 16:00

Location: conference room, fourth floor, RCC and online on Zoom (link below)

PhD Candidate: Huiying Ng

While agroecology is also an environmental and ecological issue, the reasons to understand the social and political obstacles to its flourishing are many. My defence presents a partial glimpse of the dissertation: of what farmers, scientists, agricultural extension workers, and activists deal with in navigating the discursive and material aspects of protecting dignity, passaging change, and building collectivity for other worlds.

“Growth Media: Articulating Agroecological Learning Assemblages in Thailand” follows seeds, coffee trees, and soil, and the people who work with them: farmers, scientists, and an extension worker.

Open to the interested public.
