Valeria owns a small farm and keeps a cow and a fluffy dog in the Romanian mountains. But higher up in the valley lies the copper mine. Valeria’s village was flooded in the 1970s to collect the mine’s sewage. Since then, she has been persevering while the sewer level continues to rise. Featuring impressive images the documentary tells an extremely timely tale, which concerns everyone: The cheap copper we are using on a grand scale is creating an environmental catastrophe on Valeria’s doorstep.
A discussion with Matthäus Wörle (director) will follow the screening.
The original version of the film will be shown with German/English subtitles. The discussion will be held in German.
