New York University, USA
City Environments around the Globe, the collaboration between Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU Munich) and New York University (NYU) that started in 2018, focuses on understanding urban environments over time, and aims to explore urban issues and challenges via a comparative, transnational, and global framework. The core faculty draws from the Rachel Carson Center (RCC) at LMU Munich, the NYU Urban Greening Lab Initiative in New York, and the eARThumanities initiative at NYU Abu Dhabi. Each of these institutional hubs forms a center for excellence in the three university locations, but the project’s activities will extend outward to incorporate faculty and students across a wide range of disciplines and departments.
