Massimo Moraglio on "Is Transportation Only for Engineers? The 1970s European Tramway Revival"

Lunchtime Colloquium

12.06.2014 12:00  – 14:00

Location: Katholische Hochschulgemeinde (KHG), Leopoldstr. 11

Massimo Moraglio (Technical University of Berlin) will present on "Is Transportation Only for Engineers? The 1970s European Tramway Revival." Transportation has a huge impact on energy resources, environmental issues, cultural and physical landscapes, and of course a worldwide role as one of the largest and fastest growing greenhouse gas polluters. In this light, Moraglio's presentation will be twofold: i) it aims to present transportation as a crossover field of study that goes well beyond engineering; and ii) to highlight the European tramway renaissance in 1970s-2000s and its societal, technologic and environmental elements.

The Lunchtime Colloquium is free and open to the public.

Snacks are served at 12:00; the lecture starts at 12:30.
