Tuesday Discussion with GegenStrömung (CounterCurrent)

14.07.2026 16:30  – 17:45

Location: Rachel Carson Center, fourth floor, Conference Room, Leopoldstr. 11a, 80802 Munich, Germany

This Tuesday, a member of GegenStrömung / CounterCurrent will join us for the Tuesday Discussion to talk about their work on the ecological and social impacts of dams.

CounterCurrent is an initiative hosted by the NGO Institute of Ecology and Action Anthropology (INFOE e.V.). It was launched in 2008. It is committed to support those negatively affected by dam projects, specifically in the Global South, and to change the political frameworks so they address the impacts of dams and stop the implementation of harmful projects. For that, they focus on the German actors in global economic and political structures. Through education and campaigning, the initiative tries to influence their decision making and support those affected by dams in making their voices heard in Germany.

The Tuesday Discussions are free and open to the public.
