Martin Bemmann studied history and cultural anthropology at the University of Freiburg, receiving his MA in December 2006. From 2004 to 2006, he was a research assistant at the Institute for the Cultural Anthropology of Eastern Europe in Freiburg. Since 2007, Martin Bemmann has been working on his PhD thesis in the framework of a research project based in Freiburg, financed by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
