New Freigeist Project Coming to the RCC

Dr. Alessandro Rippa has been selected for a Freigeist Fellowship from the Volkswagen Foundation and will be working on his project “Environing Infrastructure: Communities, Ecologies and China’s Green Development in Contemporary Southeast Asia” at the Rachel Carson Center starting in September 2020.
Currently based at the University of Tallinn in Estonia, Alessandro will examine the environmental impacts of China’s Belt and Road Initiative on the country’s neighbors in Southeast Asia in his Freigeist project, which will include a position for a postdoctoral scholar and doctoral student respectively. Congratulations Alessandro!
