Katharina Karrenbauer, MA

IDK Doctoral Candidate

Katharina has been interested in climate change and social justice since her school days. After her bachelor’s degree in business informatics, she chose to do the interdisciplinary master’s program Responsibility in Science, Engineering, and Technology at the Technical University of Munich, which dealt with issues of social responsibility in an increasingly technologically oriented society. As part of her master’s thesis, she looked at the discourse around a sustainable transformation of the transport sector. She is particularly interested in how an ecological transformation can be designed so that social justice and sustainability goals are not seen as competing but as intertwined.

Dissertation project: Transformation for the Whole of Society? The Inclusion of Marginalised Voices in the Debates about the Ecological Transformation
