The article “Four Kids Survived 40 Days Alone in the Jungle. The Media Coverage Is Missing Something Big,” which is co-authored by anthropologist and Freigeist fellow Francesca Mezzenzana and Franks Mayancha, was recently published by Slate and tells the “story of four children’s 40-day survival after a plane crash, in a remote stretch of the Amazon rainforest in Colombia.” The authors’ message in this article is that these children’s resilience and admirable fight for survival is undoubtedly worth being remembered.
