RCC alumnus Fabian Zimmer has published his new book Hydroelektrische Projektionen: Eine Emotionsgeschichte der Wasserkraft im Industriefilm with Wallstein. In Hydroelektische Projektionen, Fabian analyzes how three exemplary hydropower companies (Bayerische Wasserkraftwerke AG in Germany, Vattenfall in Sweden, and Electricité de France in France) use films to guide the public’s emotions toward a positive reception of hydropower development. He works out the narratives and the justification strategies of corporate PR, relates them to broader debate contexts, and is thus able to show how the managing of emotions has changed public disputes over energy infrastructures in the 1950s.
