RCC research fellow Pavla Šimková published her new book Urban Archipelago: An Environmental History of the Boston Harbor Islands (University of Massachussetts Press).
Urban Archipelago is an inspiring study of the Boston Harbor Islands and their relationship to Boston since the days of colonization. Pavla Šimková's new book offers a rich set of material, from archival sources to historic maps and photographs over diaries from island residents, to explore the ways the City of Boston has been informed and transformed by its surrounding environment over time.
