CALAS Fellowship for Claiton da Silva and Claudio de Majo

16.07.2021

Former Carson fellow Claiton da Silva and RCC doctoral candidate Claudio de Majo received a Transatlantic Tandem fellowship at the CALAS headquarters in Guadalajara, Mexico, beginning in 2022.

The scholars' research project, tentatively titled "The Forgotten Green Revolution: The Influence of Nelson Rockefeller's IRI Research Institute on the Global South During the Great Acceleration," seeks to address the operations and accomplishments of the Nelson Rockefeller's IRI Research Institute regarding agricultural modernization and ecological transformation in renowned bioregions of the Global South between the early 1950s and the late 1990s.

The Maria Sibylla Merian Center for Advanced Latin American Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences (CALAS) was founded by a consortium of Latin American and German universities on initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The fellowship is subject to funding from the BMBF.

All at the RCC would like to congratulate Claiton and Claudio on this great achievement!
