New Essay Collection: Urwald der Bayern

04.09.2020

Urwald der Bayern: Geschichte, Politik und Natur im Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald, a collection of essays by experts on the history and future of the Bavarian National Park, has just been published by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht. The collection, edited by RCC director Christof Mauch and Marco Heurich of the Bavarian Forest National Park, focuses especially on the negotiations between the government and the inhabitants of the area that preceeded the founding of the park, as well as the park's strategies for managing its current challenges, from bark beetles to mass tourism. More information, as well as the ability to purchase the book, can be found here.

You can also watch a short film introducing the book (with Christof Mauch) on here.
