Special issue on "Global Commodities"
Former RCC fellows Ernst Langthaler and Arnab Dey contribute to new issue of Austrian Journal of Historical Sciences

Former RCC fellow Ernst Langthaler has recently co-edited a special issue of the Austrian Journal of Historical Sciences (OeZG) on "Global Commodities". Alongside his own essay on soy, the special issue also includes an article on tea by former RCC fellow Arnab Dey. Further contributions deal with coffee, sugar, gold, and cocaine. These goods provide prisms for investigating global commodity chains and their regional frontiers of production and consumption. The special issue adopts a commodity-focused approach to globalization, highlighting intersections of society and nature, global and local, as well as market, state, and civil society.
